Our Story

Zeke and Bethany Johnston live with their five children in the small town of Soldotna, on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. Born and bred in Alaska, Zeke began knifemaking at the age of 15. After meeting each other through a knifemaking class Zeke was teaching, Zeke and Bethany married a couple of years later and started a family. After years of working to perfect the craft, the long time dream of Zeke building knives full-time from a home-based shop was finally realized in 2020. Inspired by his love of quality, handmade products and the ancient art of bladesmithing, Zeke pours his heart into each piece he builds. Each knife Zeke creates is 100% made in our small Alaskan shop. At Alaska Blade Studio, we consider each blade we produce to be a small piece of who we are as Alaskans. We hope that you will get as much pleasure from using our fine blades as we get from building them.
